We are trying to setup encrypted connection to SQL server, using the this guide. We have certificates installed and they are being used to encrypt the [http] connection to our application.

When we try to select a certificate to use for encryption [SQL Server Configuration Manager > SQL Server Network Configuration > Protocols for MSSQLSERVER > Properties > Certificates] we don’t see any certificates in drop down list.

We intend to use a wildcard certificate, which we initially though might be an issue, but we have other (non-wildcard) certificates in the Personal certificate store that should also be displayed.

Why are our Personal certificates not available for selection?
