Server Fault is a question and answer site for system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have a atlassian server with the following config:

   server {
   listen 443;
   server_name servicedesk.example.nl;

   ssl on;
   ssl_certificate certs/jira.cer;
   ssl_certificate_key certs/jira.key;

   ssl_session_timeout 5m;

   ssl_protocols SSLv3 TLSv1;
   ssl_ciphers ALL:!ADH:!EXPORT56:RC4+RSA:+HIGH:+MEDIUM:+LOW:+SSLv3:+EXP;
   ssl_prefer_server_ciphers on;
   location / {
      proxy_pass http://jira:8080;
   #           root /var/www/maintenance.example.nl;

I have a nother one just the same only with jira.example.nl instead of servicedesk.example.nl (this so i can redirect customers to their part of the site without seeing all the tickets but just the servicedesk of jira, so the url will become longer when that is done)

now if you browse to sd.ex.nl(shortend) then the url will become jira.ex.nl

is there a way to rewrite the jira.ex.nl into sd.ex.nl? so customers wont see the jira at all ?
