I am running Red Hat Linux 6.4 and I have one Fibre Attached Tape Drive which is not visible to the OS.

I also have the WWPN of the tape drive. The server has two Qlogic HBA Card with two port each. It's also running multipathing.

I know how to scan a LUN on Linux OS, but I want to confirm whether the process is same for detecting Fibre Attached Tape Drive or not.

so by running the below command Can the Linux OS detects the tape drive. I hope the new drive will be visible in /dev/disk/by-path

# echo " - - - " >> /sys/class/scsi_host/host{0-3}/scan
