Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have installed a CentOS 6 virtual machine in VirtualBox and I want to export it and use it under VMWare. But after exporting, network does not work. There are some other interfaces created with the new MAC Address, but eth0 keeps the old one.

There are reported problems regarding this and I tried to solve it by:

http://www.envision-systems.com.au/blog/2012/09/21/fix-eth0-network-interface-when-cloning-redhat-centos-or-scientific-virtual-machines-using-oracle-virtualbox-or-vmware/

but non of these worked.

Any idea?

Problem can be solved by using NAT network configuration. Nonetheless, having Bridged configuration is still failing. I have my practical problem solved, but it would be nice to know how to solve this in a way a bridged interface can be used. –  danielmaxx Feb 14 at 12:05
