We're running a server on Ubuntu 13.04 which crashes quite randomly (the instance itself crashes, not the apache2 component). I've enabled

# Run bootlogd at startup -> BOOTLOGD_ENABLE=Yes

, but /var/log/boot doesn't exist. What else can I do to debug and investigate the cause for our crashes?

Look at the console? – Michael Hampton Feb 20 '14 at 14:15
How can I use the console if the machine crashes? I'm assuming you mean viewing the prints in real-time. – user3318076 Feb 20 '14 at 14:40
