We are in the process of decommissioning our Windows 2003 Enterprise Server (which is running as a Terminal Services Licence Server), and transitioning to Windows 2008 Server Standard.

We wish to transfer our 10 Terminal Server (TS) licences across to the new server, but can see no way to easily deactivate the licences on the old server and activate them on the new.

I have sent an email to MS Partner Support, but have not heard back yet, so was hoping for an answer from this site.

Do we have to repurchase new licences for the 2008 server? Can we do a simple transfer across?

You will need to purchase new Windows 2008 Terminal Server Licenses as the ones you currently have are for Windows 2003.
