We are currently in the process of moving from SNMPv2 to SNMPv3 in our enclave including both Linux and Windows machines. We are utilizing Net-SNMP which has been, up to this point, difficult to configure on the windows side. After a lot of trial and error we finally have it working in a somewhat stable condition.

Concerning windows, how do we setup access control for Net-SNMP using SNMPv3 so it only sends information to our management host?

In Linux, I am assuming this is done by the line com2sec testname 10.X.X.X SNMPv3_User_Name is this correct for Linux?
