I have a network which uses a Cisco 1921 router. The router is connected to a Dell Powerconnect 2848 switch and from that switch is a connection to a small SOHO Planet switch which 3 computers connect to. These 3 computers do not get an IP allocated from the Cisco router (or the win 2008r2 server which is partly responsible for the DHCP pool, nr 200 to 224, the win2008r2 is connected to the Dell Powerconnect).
I have heard that Cisco can refuse DHCP from clients that are on a second switch, how do I check if my router is doing that?
These 3 computers net works fine if I put them on a static IP address.
TIA

- Where did you hear that? That sounds like nonsense. How would the router know how many switches there are? Have you checked the DHCP pool on the router and the server to make sure they aren't full? Do the ip pools on the router and the server overlap? Have you run a packet capture to see what's happening?
