I am using Powercenter 8 and I am not sure how I did it, but I have messed up the Expression Editor Layout, so now I am unable to see the expression that I am building. Does anyone know how to restore the screen back to its normal layout.

Thank you

The layout can be restored by resetting some registry keys:

  • List item

  • Close Designer.

  • Go to Start > Run.

  • Type "regedit", click OK.

  • In the Registry Editor go to the following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Informatica\PowerMart Client Tools\PowerCenter_Client_Version\Designer\Options\Global\Editor\SQL, where PowerCenter_Client_Version is the PowerCenter client version (8.1, 8.1.1, 8.5, 8.5.1, 8.6, etc).

Change the values of the following to "0":

  • Expression Editor Position
  • Expression Editor Splitter Position
  • SQL Editor Position
  • SQL Editor Splitter Position
