I can't connect through jmx (with VisualVM) to java application into Docker container on remote host in local network.

If you still want to use RMI, I created a GitHub project that contains a ready to go implementation of JMX/RMI from a Docker container.

It contains a Dockerfile with a proper entrypoint.sh, and a docker-compose.yml for easy deployment. Also documented some of the pitfalls.

You should be able to adapt it for your needs.

Solution: use a JMXMP instead of a RMI.

Adding dependencies (example for sbt):

Download library opendmk_jmxremote_optional_jar and put it in the VisualVM folder ($VISUALVM_HOME/platform/lib).
