Currently I am using wamp 2.X, and been using it for 1 year. Recently I found this XAMPP, and it looks pretty good (well, I could say AWESOME), can I install XAMPP and WAMP on same computer? Will it crash or conflict each other? I already back up my wamp files, but I just dont want to waste my time to install and uninstall and install again. Thats why I am asking this question here.

I've been using XAMPP for several years. No real complaints, but I wouldn't say awesome, and I'm wondering if WAMP is worth a try. Why are you thinking you need more than WAMP? – pavium Nov 23 '09 at 5:42

If think you can try both but not simultaneously: shut down every WAMP service and then start the XAMPP ones. Speaking of network services you can't have two web/sql/ftp-servers on the same port...

You can also configure XAMPP services to use different ports from the WAMP ones.

Configure one of the two application stacks to run on different ports then the other and you should be fine.

Just download Virtual PC 2007 and then install XAMPP on the virtual PC. There will not be any conflicts as the virtual PC will obtain it's own IP Address ect..

whoa.. that's a bit over the top. Just changing the ports will be fine. – futureelite7 Apr 26 '10 at 8:25
