I think I messed something up with my DNS and now curl returns this

 WP HTTP Error: name lookup timed out

When I try to make any ajax request or get rss news. Any idea how to fix it ?

Can you resolve anything on the system? (dig <random domain>) Is your resolv.conf pointed to valid dns servers? – Zypher♦ Dec 15 '09 at 4:49

The solution to this problem was to ensure that the DNS was correctly configured.
