I'm downloading some 3-10MB files from a Win2003 server running defalt IIS6 with FileZilla. What's often happening is I'll look at the progress and see it's downloaded 21MB for a 7MB file and is still going. Only seems to happen with this one site, even though the server's been replaced. Connections at either end are ADSL.

Have you inspected the file? Are you getting garbage or something sensible? Are you sure the file on the server isn't changing during the download? – Anders Lindahl Dec 17 '09 at 8:15
Just deleted the latest crop. I'm sure they're not changing as it's MP3s off my home server and they play OK (no static or silence after the file) so I assume it's streaming a bunch of 0s or something after the end of the actual file. Needless to say this only happens on the home box, other FTP servers are fine. – Dan Dec 18 '09 at 8:41
