Server Fault is a question and answer site for professional system and network administrators. It's 100% free, no registration required.

After installing php5-openssl on my macbook with Mac Ports my apache2 gives me a segmenation fault.

[notice] child pid 22432 exit signal Segmentation
fault (11)

Tough some websites work and others do not, Zencart is functional while Wordpress is not and makes apache2 segmantaion fault.

I tried uninstalling php5-openssl but the problem is still there.

Any thoughts?

Can you provide any additional error messages?

You can take a look at the modules that are loaded by php with this

php -m

Try creating a testcase to find out exactly what functions/process are causing this behaviour, you should be able to find out by looking at differences in working vs. non working applications.

If you want to debug apache here is a useful link: The Art of Debugging Apache Segfaults

When you have segmentation faults, playing cat and mouse with them is time consuming.

Since you are on UNIX, check this guide out for properly narrowing down the problem.
