I've been working with computers since the 80s. I started on an Apple ][+ and made my way through the IBM PC, AT, and PS/2 juggernaut. I started with Unix at UW-Madison w/ 4.3 BSD, an awesome OS if there ever was one!

I did quite a bit of network, middleware, and GUI programming for work, mostly in C. For network programming, I used SNA (what is that?) and TCP/IP. For GUIs, I used Win16 and Win32.

Presently, I do Bioinformatics work, where, surprise, it's still all about Unix.
