This is true when the word "own" is used correctly -- +1 -- but I think it's worth mentioning that there are some crappy webhosts that will happily give other people subdomains of your domain, because just because you think of a domain as yours doesn't mean you actually "own" it. (This has had serious security implications in some cases.) So it's worth checking.

@Kaz: I disagree. It's e-mailing the user, using the user's own address as the "From" address. There is no risk of misunderstanding, hence no "impersonation" or "forgery".

+1. FWIW, you can also write that as tar -xvf --use-compress-program=pigz filenamehere. (-z amounts to --use-compress-program=gzip.) Alternatively, you can even make gzip be a symlink to pigz, and keep using -zxvf.
