comment Limit MySQL forked processes
I see; so there is no control over a 'maximum' amount of forked processes?

@skrat the mynetworks works in relaying of mail; I don't know how the app works that you're referring to. See serverfault.com/questions/337687/… for permit_sasl_authenticated with mynetworks. You can leave mynetworks to 127.0.0.1 but the server will not relay mail; e.g. you cannot directly connect to it to send mail. If you have a machine that you need to send mail you need to allow it in mynetworks. To verify that mynetworks is the issue set it to 0.0.0.0 to make it an open relay and then try sending

comment How to troubleshoot performance issues of PHP, MySQL and generic I/O
You may have to measure the disk capability with fio. Also, apache may not be configured properly. If you're using pre-fork (old archaic model) you may want to try event (highly recommended) or worker apache.

comment how to put policy on emails sent through php/mail scripts in linux
This greatly depends on the script; for example PHP 5.3+ adds X-PHP-Origin-Script header. The only solution that you have for each of those different scripting languages is to write a custom header (with PREPEND) that catches the content.

Which scripts (PHP?); and which sendmail binary do you have configured? You need to make sure you're using postfix sendmail binary.
