comment What is the recommended size for a Linux /boot partition?
@Wernight because some versions of GRUB do not support it.

comment Setting up an NFS mount with an apache server
NFS is very easy to setup; there are many docs on how to do this; I'm not really sure how your question is any different from reading the manual.

comment TTL and Google DNS
Google is most certainly not running a single server for DNS; they're most likely load balancing 8.8.8.8 to internal DNS servers that all have their own slightly different TTLs.

comment MariaDB how to handle 2/3 node failure in multi master cluster.
Offline; if a node fails, it's completely removed from the cluster. This is a STONITH technique: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/STONITH

comment Amazon SES: Creating verified email address without inbox
@Chida, not really. You can setup a postfix server with HA in ~30 mins; shorter if you have chef. cloudwatch I havent worked with, so cant speak for that. I use SES now, but for high volume emails (75k a day). Which is why I'm saying its overkill.

You do not need SES for something like this.... It's over kill.

comment Standard location for storing shared apache2 configs
there really isnt a standard; on RHEL it's different, Debian it's different. I usually just throw them in conf.d. On a debian system it'd be sites-enabled; on RHEL it'd be conf.d.

comment Standard location for storing shared apache2 configs
You do know that you can create your own location with apache Include directive? You can use sites-available or sites-enabled or conf.d or make your own location.

comment how many decibels of noise will an Intel R1000BB generate?
Since this is an enterprise class server it's most likely > 80db which means its going to be obnoxious to have in your house. I have yet to see a 'quiet' 1/2/4U server.

comment Unable to download PHP page even web server is running in SUSE Linux
Did you verify that the php module is being seen after clean install with apache2ctl -D DUMP_MODULES? If it's not then I'd suggest using a different OS that doesn't have broken apache packages (CentOS, Debian); unless you're up to compiling in everything?

comment Unable to download PHP page even web server is running in SUSE Linux
The issue is that apache is not finding your php module. You need to fix that first. You can try to clean install apache/php by purging them.
