comment Cisco 1921 router stops routing traffic
ARP and CAM table utilization would be my guess as well. Routers can be used as small switches, but they aren't architected that way. Do you just have one client workstation on each port of the EHWIC?

Note that POE switches are a whole different beast and can easily pull north of 700W when fully loaded.

comment Syslog produces hundreds of lines
I saw the same messages on one of our file servers. What eventually happened is that certain files no longer became available. In the console, they would flash red and I would get inode and block errors trying to read them. Good thing you have backups. :)

comment Copying Firmware to 3560X Switch Ends SSH Session & Erases File
Since you've done this several times successfully, I'm going to assume that you've already checked that there's enough flash memory available. Even then, filling up the flash should not disconnect you from SSH. I would say it's a bug as well or a faulty unit.

comment Setting up QuickVPN clients with a Cisco small office router and getting a message indicating I must change the router's internal addressing scheme
Again: ridiculous. Since it's hardcoded, then I doubt there's anything you can do other than get a "real" VPN device like an ASA5505 and put that in front of the router.

comment How are these access lists interpreted by the router?
I've noticed that people who come from the security appliance side of Cisco-ASA, PIX, etc.-usually get confused by the fact that there's no global ACL on a switch/router.

comment Why do modern routers not require clock settings anymore?
You will still see CSU/DSU connections around, so it's still relevant. As far as the clock, you have to negotiate with the telco but usually they require you to take clocking from the line (the default). Mismatched clocks are difficult to troubleshoot since the errors you see in the IP layer are inconsistent.

comment Is it possible to have an account login more than once to Windows Server 2k3 VPN (RRAS)?
I ran some testing and I was able to get it to log in multiple times without any special config. Thanks for the heads up.

No, I don't need to be able to differentiate. The vendor assigns different departments to the case depending on the issue, so I'll have maybe 2 guys from engineering and 1 guy from R&D on a ticket for 3 users total that all need access.
