I SOLVED IT! I added line 127.0.0.1 www.some-domain.dev at the end of the hosts /etc/hosts and changed hosts file permissions, owner from root to myself and now it works. I still think apache should handle stuff like this automatically, otherwise why I need to write all that in the virtual hosts file, huh.. Thank you guys for the heads up.
