comment PLESK PostFix Error Local Loop in maillog, how to troubleshoot
looks like CentOS doesn't use /var/log/maillog, they use /usr/local/psa/var/log/maillog instead...

comment PLESK PostFix Error Local Loop in maillog, how to troubleshoot
hm.... /var/log/mail/ is empty, and /var/log/maillog and all files like it are blank. I've sent emails with this server.... is that normal?

comment Checking my IPTables Ports, modify through /etc/services?
ah. well at least I know to go to IANA to get that list back to it's original state. I only changed 2 things. Many thanks to both of you.

comment Checking my IPTables Ports, modify through /etc/services?
so, I'm assuming I don't want to touch /etc/services because that's the name identified when starting/restarting/stopping any service? 22 I returned back to ssh (even though the Port has moved) but I did retitle my port using PLESK to PLESK. Does that mean my command /etc/init.d/psa commands will stop working?

comment IPTables Config to Drop/Reject IPs based on attempts
I've decided as an easier method I'll simply deny all incoming IPs for these services except for mine because I'm the only person administering this box. That would be a sufficient security measure, no?

ott--, thanks for your response. I will definitely look into this.

thanks. I'm assuming then it would be wiser to do this individually for each port I have open than one setting for my IP or something universal? I'm the only person accessing any part of this box aside from port 80, so I was hoping there could be just 1 universal rule I could create to deter attacks

comment SFTP Access Restricted with new Sudo Root User
@craig - no, in fact, the opposite. I would like the new user to be able to not only see all files on the box, but edit them as well. There's going to be 1 user, me, and that's it.

comment SFTP Access Restricted with new Sudo Root User
Thanks @Tim for your responses. This was more in regards to editing files that already existed under the new user. I was hoping to change permissions for a particular user when SFTPing so it would emulate that of 'root' user. I guess I'm just going to chmod change every file I want to SFTP edit as this new user.
