comment Strategies/tools for controlling spending in printing
Similar experience: Executive decision that all e-mail signatures should contain "Think of the tress before you print this e-mail" and a small tree icon. Default printing settings were changed to black/white; the only users who cared were the users who needed to print in color, they were educated to manually change this setting when needed. We never really had a problem of excessive private printing, but costs did go down. Also, we installed an agent for our printers connected to supplier's system with excellent statistics and tools, which was handled by the Purchase manager. Everyone happy.

Thank you, while this certainly applies to what I was asking, I was thinking more of a standardized document that would apply to not only troubleshooting methodologies, but also relevant conclusions that can be made and a diagnostic label of the problem. I will however accept your answer since I'm pretty sure there's no such thing available today, though I'm still interested in what other people might think of such an idea.

comment Complete backup / restore solution Windows Sharepoint Services 3.0
Yes, however this would limit the service to that particular server. Want I'm looking for is a way to backup Sharepoint specifically, not necessarily on the same server. As such, it is the content that is most important. Further more, IMO it's better to know how the data interacts and what components is required of each other, so this kind of manual recovery is preferred over purchasing BackupExec agents and so on. I haven't found any basic articles discussing pros and cons of WSS backup alternatives.

comment Graceful Tomcat shutdown when Windows clustered service?
It would seem that //SS// doesn't close Tomcat very well, this might however be due to our installation and not normal behavior. It would seem that what I was looking for is possible with the above answer, so I'm putting a resolve on this.
