comment Remote WOL over CISCO/FW not Forwarding
Is the Cyberoam firewall blocking UDP7,9? Do you see the incoming UDP traffic in the Cyberoam logs?

comment view the maximum equal cost paths configured for OSPF
As far as I know it's the only way--you can tell intrinsically by issuing a 'show ip cef <dest> internal' which will only show at most maximum-path's but it doesn't spit back the number.

Can you check the following? mysql --print-defaults and mysql --help --verbose. Can you also try mysqladmin variables?

comment Web server is working, but ping returns a request timeout for icmp_seq
I would recommend using the macros echo-request/echo-reply instead of icmp--type 8. Makes it a little more expressive for people like OP.

comment Is there a way to block ALL inbound/outbound traffic going outside of a LAN with iptables?
Are you looking to do this to routed traffic or traffic originating from the local box?

comment Will UUID be the same if a disk moved from one machine to another?
Do you mean slices/partitions? Partition UUID's will be the same across different machines (they are stored in the MBR/GPT) but the UUID changes on each format. (So going from CentOS 5 to CentOS 6 with a format would result in a new UUID.)

comment How does the Cloud compare to Colocation? And development too
Excellent answer. I just wanted to comment outright one thing you alluded to with your elasticity comment but didn't specifically state: consider the case where your application has a particularly high load window (say lunchtime for a popular news website) then a 'cloud' architecture allows you to fire up additional nodes for your high load periods and completely turn them off at other hours.

Have you tried upgrading the motherboard BIOS and the network card drivers?

You want the System log. If it is truly the network adapter dropping link you should be able to correlate the RDP dropouts with these events in your system log. I would also try going in to device manager and setting the link speed from auto-negotiation to it's actual speed to rule that out, as well.
