comment Registry key / GPO to disable and block Windows 10 upgrade?
So I had to first install Windows8.1-KB3065988-v2-x64.msu on the domain controller before I could have the option in GPO. And I also discovered that I could not install the KB on the secondary domain controller - only on the primary.

@austinian I think it is the same case for the DC. I looked in the GPO for the domain on my Server 2012 and can't find these GPO keys.

comment How can I adjust the timeout for UNC network shares under Windows 7?
You can also get a network location that is faulty by accidentally mis-typing an address - and you'll get a hang like that too. OR you enter an address that is normally just fine, but the machine is asleep or offline when you enter the location. Either way Explorer will hang.

Those pictures won't do any good if the site uses nicely-customized master pages and branding.

comment last time an AD user has logged in?
If you use the AD Snapin in the MMC, and you are able to view the user object, then you will get a tab for "attribute editor" in which you can see the attribute for "lastLogin".

comment SharePoint 2010 Server Configuration Error -> “Cannot connect to database master”
Ah you may be right actually; but I do know that if your SSL certificate is out of whack that in SCA you may be able to access a page but the controls and wizards may yet fail. I've experienced this myself.

I beg to differ. Would you like to say why you think that?

comment Get MRTG to run as Windows Service
@EEAA You are right! That's not really what I want to hear. I understand MRTG is originally a unix program, but there is a version for Windows, and it works just fine. My problem here I see is getting it to run as a service. Okay, so if I can't ever figure this out, I'll do it in linux; but until then I am in need of the torture.
