If it involves computers or electronics, I probably do it.

I have experience with Exchange, Sharepoint, Zabbix, Powershell, Hyper-V clusters, and a whole host of other things.

If you need to contact me, my email address is grant@emsley.ca

comment Windows 2008 keeps forcing reactivation
Microsoft will add more MAK activations within reason, but the better solution is to switch to using KMS if possible.

uftp-multicast.sourceforge.net looks promising but I have no experience with it.

comment Debugging slow transfer rate from server
If you start multiple transfers simultaneously does the combined speed add up to near the expected 50Mbit/s? ie. Is it slow over all, or slow per-connection?

Yay! Someone is finally taking this seriously. Hopefully they come up with a permanent fix soon - limiting my hyper-v server to 4GB of RAM isn't going to work very well :)

Exactly what was the method you used to connect outlook to gmail? POP3? IMAP? Email forwarding? Forwarding gmail emails to a printer that prints it out, then feeds the printout into a scanner, then emails the scan to your work address?

When you say "and is levying charges on me" do you mean actual legal charges? If so, consult a lawyer, not the internet.

comment How to compare and state performance on virtual server instance?
Measuring performance on a vm will vary depending on what other vms are doing at the time. If you need repeatable benchmarks I would run it on a physical machine, and include the exact processor model.

@david that depends a lot on how much memory is needed for sql server to run smoothly and your other applications. I would plan on 1-2gb each minimum for AD servers, 8gb min for sql. Those are absolute minimums. Buy as much as you can possibly afford, and if possible larger sticks so you leave some slots free for future upgrades. My hyperv servers have 96gb RAM each, and I plan to upgrade that soon. The more ram you give each vm the more caching it can do so the better it runs. Database servers especially benefit from as much ram as you can afford to give them.

@HarrisonSamuel When Hopeless said "get some help", I believe he meant more PAY someone to help. The level of support you appear to need goes well beyond what we are able to (or willing to) provide for free here. So much so that you may want to consider managed hosting rather than a dedicated server. Dedicated servers are great for experienced linux admins. Not so much for the inexperienced.
