comment Install a SATA SSD in hot swap server
Does the drive show up in the RAID config? Either in lifecycle controller, Dell OpenManage software, or iDRAC? I could be wrong, but I don't think that controller does passthrough by default - so you have to configure the new drive before it will show up in windows.

comment How to setup monitoring of nodes behind firewall
Are you planning to install the monitoring system at the same location (just on the other side of a firewall), or would the monitoring system connect to the production network over the internet?

comment Two-Node Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V Cluster: Is it possible use local physical disks in the cluster?
@gravyface To remove the VM from failover clusters, just right click it and add the choose remove. VM will still exist in hyper-v manager on the host. To put a VM back to failover cluster manager, right click Roles -> Configure Role -> Virtual Machine. All the non-clustered VMs will show up for you to import. Then you just have to move the storage.

comment Two-Node Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V Cluster: Is it possible use local physical disks in the cluster?
@gravyface No, you can do it from failover manager and hyper-v manager. Just remove the VM from failover manager - now you have a non-clustered VM you can control in hyper-v manager. Add it back in failover manager and you are back to being clustered. Don't forget to move the disk/config files between local and SAN storage each time - failover cluster manager will not do it for you.

Take a look at this page: technet.microsoft.com/en-ca/library/jj134187.aspx You might be able to get it to work over SMB3, kind of (particularly, loopback connections are not supported - so you have to have the storage on a separate server from the host, thus 2 single points of failure). But it won't be at all highly available without shared storage, so you are better off just switching the VMs to not be clustered and moving to the local disk.

comment Port was prevented from using MAC address because it is pinned to port
Please add some more details about the network setup - how many virtual switches, how many physical, the configuration of both. Model of NICs. Any other hyperv hosts on the same LAN?

comment Wireshark/tshark cutting data short
@MikeKulls I usually save the capture and analyse it with the gui. Alternatively, you can remote capturing to use the gui in realtime from another machine.

comment MHDDFS randomly breaks
at least while you are having issues, turn on the debug log. Make sure it is NOT stored inside the mhddfs mount. Also, check health of all drives with smartctl - many mhddfs issues i have had were triggered by small issues in the underlying drives.

Are there any other relevant seeming logs in syslog or dmesg?

comment Trying to run 2 commands in OSD SCCM
@Saeed Ah I missed that you were trying to do it as the postaction - that will only let you run one command, so you need to write a small script and call the script as the post action.

comment How do I mirror the data harddisk of my win 2008 server to a LAN drive or another local server?
What kind of data? What does this server DO? It makes a big difference for what your HA options are.

comment IP as a method of access control? (IP Spoofing possibilities)
@bnmcg as long as you are only restricting external IP addresses, what I mentioned won't be a problem.

comment IP as a method of access control? (IP Spoofing possibilities)
If you are limiting it to one IP address on the same subnet, others on that subnet may be able to steal the allowed IP address. That doesnt work beyond the same subnet, but may be something to be aware of.

Which H700 card do you have? It comes in a couple form factors - photos or exact part numbers would help.

comment Bulk Gathering of Numerous Discovered Items
What kind of system are you gathering data from? I do something similar with scripts on the client side being run as scheduled tasks to gather and send multiple values. If that is an option for you I can post a detailed answer.
