comment Blocking applications on Macs
I would highly recommend getting a Mac Mini with OSX Server on it and joining the computers to the Open Directory domain. I found that it's a huge pain to manage local MCX files (so much so I gave up on it) across more than a few machines if you don't have an excellent software push program like RADMIND. I think the $1000 (or $2000 if you want redundancy) is a small price to pay for how much easier it makes your job. :-)

I'm a little confused do you have a local account on that server? Can you log into other computers with that OD account?

comment Excluding Values from a CSV file in PowerShell
@JasonMArcher In this exact script the CSV actually has two properties, the name of a VM and the host it should reside on. I'm trying to filter out the VMs that have an assigned host.

comment Excluding Values from a CSV file in PowerShell
How does this work if both of the arrays I'm going through are objects that have properties and aren't just strings?

comment Excluding Values from a CSV file in PowerShell
I think I needed to cast it to a string because the following is what worked: foreach($objIgnore in $arrIgnore){ $objAll = $objAll | where {$_.Name -ne ($objIgnore.Name)} }

comment Discover network drives users have manually mapped via remote script
I agree, we have users that have shares mapped to servers that don't exist anymore. :-)

comment Speedup vmware esx guest hdd access
If you have the drives and bays you could also setup a Datastore only for this VM. That would give it almost full speed access to the drives.
