Thanks Matthew, yes its a rolling window. Most of the tables will be big i.e. millions of records. Backup is already planned.

Anyway the application is .Net so we have no issues with Windows Env. If we choose oracle then we are deploying it on Linux.

I agree with you mark. We are keeping all the data in Single server and we have planned to deploy SAN and run 4 nodes on Oracle in Active-Active mode. We are still considering all the options so if need be we can go with Oracle Enterprise as well.
