@quanta This is the line in my config if that is the one you need: command[check_ftp_backup_daily]=/usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_ftp_backup

I figured it out for those interested. When using nrpe with nagios is always add arguments to the request, because I don't have any arguments specified you need to add a - behind the command like this: check_nrpe!check_ftp_backup_daily!- then it worked like a charm

@cjc I founded another nrpe plugin using ruby, he did used exit(exit_code). I'm using the exitcodes specified by nagios EXIT_OK = 0 EXIT_WARNING = 1 EXIT_CRITICAL = 2 EXIT_UNKNOWN = 3

@uSlackr already looked at that but it isn't a permissons problem. I got a response now when I run the command manually on my server, but nagios is still displaying: unhandled- (No output returned from plugin) while I can't get a response... strange

@KyleSmith yes, it's chmoded with +x this is the line in my nrpe.cfg: command[check_ftp_backup]=/usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_ftp_backup But I don't think the errors lies there because the command is recognized by the nagios server itself.
