comment How can I setup PCI passthrough for my HighPoint 1144A USB 3.0 card under ESXi 5.1?
Care to explain @wfaulk? I seriously do believe that USB 3.0 support to a VM isn't that unreasonable of an expectation!

Yes, what I am trying to do is run a ZFS machine with access to USB 3.0 devices...

comment cPanel - Unable to open new user account login page
Ah, yeah, as far as I know cPanel requires a public IP assigned to the server. You might be able to make it work otherwise but I don't believe that's supported. Ultimately where you're trying to get to is port 2083 of the server, so maybe you just need to change your router/VPN/firewall/port forward/whatever setup.

comment CPanel installation on Azure CentOS, gcc install fails
Is this a brand new CentOS install? I just did a cPanel install the other day; I installed the minimal CentOS system, did yum install perl, and then was able to install cPanel. Seems like you have a CentOS installation to me...

comment Why did I experience checksum errors with a ZFS filesystem on an ESXi RDM?
Thanks @ewwhite I will read that tomorrow. Also, please don't misunderstand, I'm not doubting you, I'm just trying to broaden my knowledge, that's all. No offense intended!

For example I have seen Chopper3 recommend RDMs in other serverfault posts. I'm looking for VMware documentation on when they should/should not be used. I'm trying to learn, looking for more than "don't do it".
