I'm a web programmer, gamer, husband and father of two.

I've been writing in ASP Classic, JavaScript & HTML since 1998.

I'm mainly MySQL by experience, but have also used SQLServer for a number of years, and now SQLite.

I've fiddled / reworked code in PHP (& won), and am exploring ASP.NET at the moment.

My gaming bent is FPS, but 3rd person strategy is cool too. (PC mainly)

Oh, and JQuery IS the best thing since sliced bread. ;)

(I'll assume you don't mean client /flushdns, but the DNS-server-y one.)

Haha. Yes, it's primary role isn't DNS, that's it's secondary role. It's Main Role is a mail server (on PHP, funnily enough)

Not using DHCP at all, so far as I'm aware... and I should be aware of it ;) My initial response was "turn it off", but my co-worker said the above.

It says in the services, that DHCP is required for the secondary DNS to update. This seems strange to me, hence why I'm here.

I would be surprised, as it's in a Data center, and I would have thought nothing would be permitted via public IP, and everything is static on the private IP. But I'll have a look... :)

comment Removal or Update of .NET on Win2003 Server
Hi Russ. Well, this seems to now be moot, as the chief is happy to leave it on there now, as procedures have been adjusted & it doesn't seem to be having an effect anymore. Thanks for the help :)

Mmmm, Logs. Good thought. I can't see that anything new & using .NET would have been installed. I've passed this information up the line, and have suggested better implementation of (1) rather than removal. We'll see how we go. Once we resolve this internally, I'll update this again.
