Could running two wireless networks from the same access point be a bad thing?

Not likely. I've got one laptop doing a copy and past and it is not even pushing toward 1mbs and no one else was on the wireless at the time.

Not possible. I would just setup a new server then clone the data over and make a switch.

Packets contain TTL, Strings, and other information. You can use IPTables to block certain packets based on certain contents. This can work in situations the attackers packets are the same.

The system by default will use ALL resources unless limited by limits.conf and in /usr/local/apache/conf/php.conf. Keep in mind that all default security settings on the server come in to account.

Some HTTPd engines like Apache get overloaded so by spitting off the static you take load off from Apache.

comment TCPDump and IPTables DROP by string
Like in some cases I can ban with TTL=xxx and use that should an attack have the same TTL. Sure it will block some legit packets but if it means keeping the box up it works till the attack goes away but I would like to LEARN how to FIND other common things in a packet to block with IPTables
