comment How to unzip files bigger than 4GB?
I compiled the current unzip-6.0 from scratch - it didn't fix the problem.

Perhaps you can monitor for two log rotation instances or prevent that from happening.

Locking-related, is my next guess. Who is doing the locking?

Your /var/log is on a local disk, right? Mounting it from another machine might lead to problems like this.

OK ... you can check the /proc filesystem or use the lsof command to see which processes have which files open. I'd also check the logs in /var/log to see if your disk is dying. I'm really just guessing here.

What did you try to delete?? Yes, logs are usually in /var/log so you may want to replace /var with something more specific. Please don't type in commands or delete files without understanding what they do - they all have documentation, e.g. man find gives you the explanation for the find command.

comment High time accuracy on Windows Servers - alternatives to w32tm?
Thanks a lot, this seems to have resolved my problem (which was a diffeent one, namely that I can't figure out how to tell w32tm to /resync even when the time is a month off).

comment Troubleshooting linux server reboots?
A kernel panic is very unlikely - hardware trouble such as an overheating processor or memory errors is much more likely.
