Thanks MDMarra, our change process is to perform major updates to some key applications as part of a re-image process, this enables us to test that integration works and limits the chances of failure. And we do have a deployment system in place but do not need (nor can really justify) SCCM. I do appreciate your assistance and do understand where you are coming from, if not for some of our more unique applications and the way some of them are integrated in-place upgrades would be a better option.

Thank you for the answer to my question, we will need to look at our options and what we want to achieve. As I said the examples are not the only reasons for doing this and this isn't the sort of environment that we can get away with doing certain driver updates during business hours.

Because that is the scenario that I have been tasked into solving. We do not want to encourage users to leave their PC's on "24/7" as this would introduce other issues.

That was an example, we try and re-image twice a year to update apps that aren't easy to update silently or driver updates, etc. When implementing this we would probably be looking at doing it in smaller batches of PC's to be re-imaged so that if something goes wrong we don't have 200 people twiddling their thumbs.

comment Two emails receiving the same Message ID
The problem we have is that our DMS uses the Message ID to check if the email has already been filed, and because these messages have a duplicate Message ID it is preventing the filing of the messages. We would like to continue the duplicate email check which I guess wouldn't work if the Message ID was ommitted?

Ill check that out, I ended up having to bind to each item returned from the FindItems call which has helped somewhat. Are you able to provide a link to the docs?
