comment Server intermittently inaccessible externally (but accessible internally continuously)
Do you have multiple webapps hosted on the same CRM server? Are you using virtual hosts? Are you proxying through Apache? You may have a conflict in your virtual host and proxy pass configurations.

Also, the RA settings greatly depend on your filesystem allocation scheme. Are you using ext4?

What Linux distribution are you using? Are you using hardware or software raid? Seems like software. If hardware, what card/chipset are you using as much of this is set and stored in the device's firmware.

comment How Do I Install Gerrit Under Tomcat with LDAP?
@larrycai, yes I wrote this tutorial a while back and it actually has been improved and contributed to Gerrit's project documentation. It's still under review, but when it's approved, I'll update this question. Thanks for the feed back. Oh and yes gitweb will definitely run as CGI via Apache.

I solved that too a while back. I have notes how to resolve that issue. I'll see if I can provide an update here shortly.

I take it all the images are stored on disk and not external url references? Are the php scripts references images on the local filesystem?

Do you have access to the firewall? Are there any QOS rules set on your firewall. Also, do you have compression turned on? Is the delay specific to a single JPG or all?

can you provide your server.xml? You have to configure tomcate to listen on mydomain.com:8080 in the server.xml. DOes it work when you try localhost?

comment How do I configure Remote Desktop Session Host Server to use 3rd party CA and certificates?
Hey Ryan Ries, thanks for the tutorials. Very descriptive and entertaining for a tech tutorial. I'm starting to figure it all out. Is the RD Gateway more secure than just using RDP over SSL? I might enable the Gateway, but only if it serves better security. I will have to host this on it's own separate port, like 7443 instead 443. 443 is already taken by our website. However, if I can manage to provide RDS over the standard port, I would prefer not to install and expose additional services.

Forgot to mention our server is on a domain. Would the cert store be included in the domain or local on the machine itself? Also, you mentioned RD Gateway. I don't think I have an RD Gateway Installed. I see where I can enable it. I was just going to expose the RDP port(3389), but I take it I should be using the gateway instead(port 443). We actually already use port 443 for HTTPS. Can Apache be used to redirect? SOrry for all the questions. I'm trying to figure the best approach. THanks!

comment Git fails to push with error 'out of memory'
I would start considering it either a bug or limitation of git, code.google.com/p/msysgit/issues/detail?id=292 . It also seems you're not the only one who has encountered problems packing before a push. You could always try the last comment in that issue, git config --global pack.windowMemory 256m . Another option, try: git repack -adf --window=5.

wait, how much total memory is on the client end? Physical memory?

I'd try increasing the size. 32MB might be too small to pack a 512MB file. However, I'm not real certain how git packs in memory. It wouldn't hurt trying it out. Just set your shmmax to 2G and try again, echo "2147483648" > /proc/sys/kernel/shmmax. You shouldn't have to reboot setting using that method. If it doesn't work ,just set it back to original value.

comment Windows script to detect if Apache is not working and then restart
" I'll be running processes that take a long time and Apache will stop server requests. " Is this with respect to Apache? Or are you referring to other external process which place highload on your machine, blocking Apache?

k so it looks like you're not using that much mem on the server, if that is in bytes. I would execute cat /proc/sys/kernel/shmmax on your client and see what the setting is.
