comment Socksify TCP connections reaching a gateway IP — preferably without iptables
You should try it, and if you're having problems, show us what you've done. (disclosure: I'm the author of tun2socks)

You can use tun2socks to proxify your entire system, and VirtualBox VMs will be included in that (that is, using the default NAT network). But, since "NAT network" in VirtualBox is internally doing the same thing as tun2socks, there's a kind of double inefficiency here. If you don't like that, you can use "host-only" interfaces and set up routing manually. Actually, if you do this, you have the option of using policy routing so that only VirtualBox would get through tun2socks.

comment use iptables for transparent access to 2 proxies depending on domain
I see, thank you. Though the SOCKS protocol does return error codes, and if I delay accepting the connection (replying the SYN) until I get a response from SOCKS, in case of error I may be able to reply with an appropriate error back to the client instead of accepting.

Hi. I'm the author of tun2socks. Could you please provide some more details on those few quirks, maybe I can do something about them? I am already planning to add proper UDP support using the SOCKS UDP ASSOCIATE feature.
