comment How to block user to access some Sharepoint 3.0 sites
+1 for mentioning the fact that every user seems to be domain admin, that strikes me as not good at all :-D.

comment How do I host multiple independent, secured SharePoint sites (WSS 3.0) without using Active Directory on the same server?
Forms based authentication is an ASP.NET thing, not IIS related AT ALL. All users are managed through the web UI of sharepoint. As long as the web.config authentication (membership / role provider) is set to forms and a suitable provider (i.e. the default ASP.NET MEmbership and RoleProviders) is available it WILL work, on IIS6 also. Al you need is a SQL Server db to store your users and add the correct connectionstring to the aforementioned providers in the web.config.

It is in the securityadmin / dbcreator server role, it shouldn't need any mapping. Furthermore, the only db's created are the config / central admin content db's

comment sharepoint cannot export all fields to spreadsheet
The DispForm uses the ListFormWebPart to display fields with rendermode = display. The in turn Calls the DocumentLibraryForm ControlTemplate from the DefaltTemplates.ascx file. I looked into that file, but it seems it uses the DocumentLibraryFields control to actually render the fields... Not sure where that control gets it's list of controls to render from...

Exactly, it looks like the fields that get exported are the same that are shown in the DispForm...

comment What is your experience with launching Sharepoint from a login script?
Are you firing up those apps / services or is windows? I can imagine everyone having things like Acrobat Laucher etc. in there Run registry key. Maybe try to eliminate some of those?

comment SharePoint Service setup tutorial
When using the AspNetSqlMembershipProvider, you specifically store your end users in SQL Server. The Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 installation can just be run, use the local "Network Service" account to run your services if you are ABSOLUTELY sure you are going to use Forms based Authentication ONLY. (Sharepoint timer service etc. can only be run as Windows users, the actual users visiting your site(s) can then be authenticated through the AspNetSqlMembershipProvider)
