One more info is that I have a D-link router with DHCP (192.168.0.1) which provides IPs 192.168.0.5 for System A and 192.168.0.3 for System B. Should I change some settings in the router?

Ok with the tcpdump commands, I can see the SYN packets from 192.168.05 to 192.168.61.71(System C). However the data from Server on C doesnt reach System A where the client waits. Please help. What else could I try? I tried running the TCP Server on B and communicating with Client on A works without isses. Perhaps the iptable rules have a problem?

Hi SmallClanger, I just have another question. What kind of routes should I add in my "route" command to allow this forwarding?

Hi Peter, I changed the setup a bit to have a more real scenario of forwarding with NAT. But I have the same problem as here. Please check my new post: serverfault.com/questions/385251/…

Hi Peter, var/log/messages show that the SYN packets on INPUT are being dropped. What is the problem??

Hi Peter, I tried exactly what you said, however when the client on System A sends a packet to Server on B, the log message only shows the SYN requeston System B at 192.168.0.5 but that is all. The server doesnt receive the message as it doesnt get forwarded I guess :(

Oh I guess even the first FORWARD rule should omit -m state, am I right?
