OK but now you have logs :) Keep them at level 3 or 4 - should be more than sufficient. Paste the log and comment here if you can't figure it out.

comment apache fails to restart…happened out of the blue :/
You'll have to check your httpd.conf or vhost configuration file and see what's happening there - maybe a stray character somewhere? Use apachectl to parse your config files and see if they're OK.
