comment Chef - multiple files dynamic template resource
thanks for your answer. I thought about it, but didn't know how much can I rely on this cache or how do I get to it. So, what should I do to have this attribute too? it's not there by default if I got you right.

what's the difference between 1000 filtered ports and 999 filtered ports that makes it so much slower?...

comment Ubuntu 12.04 slow reply to nmap
Hi, thanks for your reply. You are right, it seems that nmap runs slower when all ports are filtered than when even one port is not filtered. I wonder why is that?

comment MongoDB ReplicaSet Elections when some nodes are down
Let's say I have 3 nodes, could it be possible that when the primary gets down the others elect to one another and no one will become a primary? will they try to elect again until someone is elected? what happens if two of them are down? the remaining node will never be primary - I don't want my Set to ever lose it's primary. will a arbiter help here?

comment Automatic/scheduled check for open ports on list of servers
@BartDeVos Thank you! I've run through some options (like PBNJ, nmap-diff etc) and finally settled down with this check_scan.

comment Automatic/scheduled check for open ports on list of servers
I want to check all ports (like using nmap) and on a bunch of servers :) In the simplest way to describe it, it's like to run nmap (on each of the servers) every 5 hours and to be notified if something has changed.
