comment Is it safe for a production server to have make installed?
And one with non-root shell access to a server could download a "distro independent" compiler package(.tar.gz) that will not need to be installed so...

comment Fixed dhcp host to automatically expire any lease
Yeah. I found some of this missinformation around the internet. Some people say that you can delete leases through OMAPI and others don't(and after tests, this seems to be the ultimate truth). Is there a parameter that i need to set that will forcibly release a Lease to a determined mac address, when a fixed-address allocation is found?

Could be an option, but we have legacy systems that depends on ip addresses to print so, a dynamic pool could be a solution if this system could accept printing using hostnames and not ip addresses. That´s why i need the fixed address on every printer

Unfortunately it´s not an option. Using isc-dhcp-3.1.1 here. Sorry

I´m almost achieving with OMAPI :) . It seems that is not a trivial task to delete a host based on it´s mac address. I´m having some issues with this delete thing. Keys = OK, Connect = OK, creating a new lease with the same mac and delete it =Trouble. The documentation of omapi is way too obscure.

comment Cannot log in into a server by ssh connection
You probably have killed the SSH daemon with your pkill, cause the sshd normally launches with the root user. The connection shown on your netstat is related to the one that is open and running. The ports that are ready and Listening for new connections will look like this: tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:22 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 9626/sshd . Restart/reload your ssh to get things back again.

Belive it or not but it was both. The Memory slot on the first mobo(Dell checked) AND the RAM module. :)

comment Bridging eth0 to wlan0
It turns out that i had to make a NAT to make this setup works. However, the quality of the sip connections jumped from very good to no quality at all depending on the utilization of the wireless, making this solution inviable.

Yeah, we have lots of those Rocket M5 on other offices, where some places get about 1 mile of the nearest switch but, this bridge i'm trying to make, we'll use on the office, where other stations/notebooks are already using our wireless lan.

yeah, i know, and the support guys have the same opinion about it. i think that could be other component because, even with other mobo AND other ram modules the error persists. weeeeird.

It is on the description. We have already changed the mobo, and updated the BIOS and BMC to the latest version ;) - Changing the RAM modules position either do not make any difference on the error
