Indeed it does, and I have set up the forward-reverse local zone (192.168.56. and 56.168.192.in-addr.arpa.) in bind9, using the ISP's DNS as a forwarder. I have also, in Virtual Box, mashed together an LDAP install (using only tutorials step-by-step, not really knowing what they do), but it worked to store the remote Windows profile in ~/profile.V2/. Well... or we might try to emulate/bypass it the best we can.

Thank you for your reply. Indeed, bind9 solved the DNS problem. I will look further into the samba and ldap parts.
