comment unable to log into DRAC5, stuck at logging in please wait
@pQd - unfortunatly it is frozen at the moment/only loads the web interface once out of every 100 tries... I tried scripting a automated restart using the remote drac tools and spawning thousands of processes, but I had no luck... I will need to go to the DC soon :( ... That being said, I think I am on version 1.65... Thanks anyway.

comment How do I route a public IP range over an IPSEC VPN?
I have already thought about that :( I have tried setting a static route in Site B for the entire range and stuck the gateway of Site A as the next hop... However, I think there is still the issue of NAT when the requests have to leave Site A to the network... I don't think it is being applied by the SonicWall, so, the packets get dropped :(

Just to make sure we are on the same page... the public ip range is not actually located at Site A, What I need is similar to putting a vpn tunnel for the ip of "whatismyip.com", then going to that website from site b and it showing the address of site A, I believed it was a NAT rule, my problem is I have been trying all day to configure it and not having much luck... I really need a step-by-step guide for SonicWall as I believe I have tried pretty much everything (including what you said) without much luck.

comment How do I secure a Dell Idrac card?
I feel evil saying this after reading how much you put in, but, after reading this answer... I don't really feel like anything has been answered and don't think this deserves the bounty... I already stated (first two paragraphs) that I am worried about that... 3rd paragraph - I know - that is why I am asking the question. 4th, well, I know that... 5th/6th - this is what I am worried about and what I need an answer on and you have just stated hopefully/not sure!

@ewwhite - ok, not that funky! Just SSH/ping/basic network stuff to other hosts... my fear is if you have managed to get on locally, given unlimited time, can you brute force other devices on the management network.

comment How do I secure a Dell Idrac card?
The DRAC is on a private management network, however, the host is on a public IP - I am thinking worst case scenario, and if someone was to gain root access on the host, could they run attacks on the management network (or possibly further)..... I already protect everything to the best of my ability, but, there are some ports that need to be open and I am worried that there could be an exploit on the service that is public ally accessible that opens up these other vectors. I will look in to ACL on the management network.

updating question in a few minutes... I am personally worried that AD/LDAP isn't enough... e.g. if given root access to the host, am I able to simply run arbitrary commands on the DRAC.

Where did you see that DRAC supports PPTP? Can't find a reference to it anywhere other than this question!
