comment How can I avoid an error in this .htaccess file?
"Invalid command" is the message apache would give when a line starts with [R,L]. Could you check if there are no erroneous or "strange" characters? Maybe use "hd vhost.conf" to get a hexdump.

Could you provide the output of "uname -a" and "file /usr/local/delegate/linux64-dg"? The lib32 part seems not right.

comment How to make multiple VMs share the same folder on host datastore
Maybe you should clarify what you really want to do, because the VMs cannot store any files directly on the data store. Only virtual disks are possible, but (like chopper3 said) they can't be shared without additional overhead.

comment Ubuntu mail server switch to Postfix from Sendmail
I would rather do this in ine command, like: aptitude install sendmail- postfix Otherwise all packages requiring a mailserver will be removed.

comment Apache Rewrite: How to write a rule based on domain name (instead of HTTP_HOST)?
I gave an answer based on your rewrite-rule, but I am not sure if rewriting is the right way to go (see pulegium's answer about symlinks). Maybe you could clarify on what you want to achieve? There might be a simpler solution.

comment In Ubuntu, ensure that the same NIC gets assigned the same interface each time it comes up
This will work if you use additional "logical" interfaces, but it cannot change the physical interface.
