Yes, I know the problem is that permission is denied (further confirmed by the 403 error when I tried to access the symblink-pointed directory directly in a web browser). Your solution would seem logical other than the fact that the share is mounted read-only. Issue the chmod you provided (or any chmod, actually) just nets me the error chmod: changing permissions of /mnt/rpm': Read-only file system` . For the record, the ls -l of mnt appears as: drwxr-sr-x. 1 1209 1200 4096 Jul 6 13:27 rpm. I guess what I'm trying to see at this point is: are there any workarounds to this situation?
