not sure if related but I deleted and recreated /var/log/auth.log, because I needed to empty it, to debug the situation :T

@Ladadadada thanks for looking btw! So, I need to understand why my ssh wrong login attempts are not being logged ? is this related with iptables ?

Oh sorry, I was updating each log and forgot to remove that one. IF you notice just after, there's a reference saying the auth.log is empty. I'll remove it, actually I run again and it's still empty.

comment why does my use of the saltstack apache-formula fail to set the 'id' variable
It doesn't work for me either! I've been trying to learn Saltstack but I'm afraid I should have gone with something else instead. Basic stuff works, but then when you're trying to pick up those popular "formulas" it doesn't really work out of the box.

Thanks for your answer! Wiki sounds good! I'll also have a look on confluence. Just wondering about the git repo ? I often leave a README file there with all this information. Not sure how safe that is, but, the truth is that the repo URL also needs to be got somewhere else I guess. Like, if I'm hit by a car and someone is picking up all the projects I worked in or something...
