I began my career in software at age 8 on a Commodore VIC-20 writing BASIC, mostly games. I wrote a bunch of x86 real mode assembly with TASM in middle and high school, eventually earning a CS degree from UIUC/Urbana. Despite writing C++ for the better part of 25 years, I'm reluctantly writing mostly Nodejs these days. I want to hate it more but it's actually great.
