comment Systems Center service template including AD
Out of curiosity, do you always customize the domain in each of these deployments or is this for dev and you need to kinda match the production environment?

comment Limitations with Hyper-v replication on Windows Server 2012 when hosting Windows 2008 R2?
P. Sohm, I updated the answer to include a screenshot at the bottom of the original answer to show the difference between Legacy and non Legacy network adapters in my English version.

comment Deploying Windows via SCCM 2012 OSD Wireless
@JoeTaylor Looks like you already got it working before I had a chance to test this myself. I'm glad you figured it out. You should consider documenting the additional steps you had to take for OSD over wireless. I'm sure there are a lot of folks who will be doing this now that more and more devices are shipping without RJ45 connections.

comment Can I remove and test hard drive from Raid5 controller without rebuilding?
I'm not sure how you will be able to verify that the drive is "good" by just connecting it to your computer via a USB to SATA connector. Since the drive was part of an array, you will want to be super careful that you don't do anything to destroy the partition on the drive when doing your testing.

comment What security assurances does a developer running a Windows EC2 hosted Web application need?
From an Anti-Virus perspective, Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) is not supported on Windows Server, only on client Operating Systems such as Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.

comment Unable to request new certificate: access denied. (2008 R2)
Andrew, are you running Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition or Enterprise / Datacenter Edition? Also, are you able to request any certificates (like web server certs) or do they all fail?

comment Cannot find the DHCP Server
@matt, if you DHP Server service is indeed running, it will show up in the Task Manager list, so this tells me something is hokey with the DHCP Server service. Are you sure the network cable on the DHCP Server didn't get unplugged or the port on the switch went south?

comment Dell SCCM 2012 Integration and deployment packs - Do they support Windows Server 2012 yet?
Gotcha. Misunderstood the question and thought it was related directly to System Center 2012 only. I will ask around as well.

comment OWA access for newly created users
Just for clarification. Did you create the mailbox from the Exchange Management Console or from the AD Users and Computers tool?

comment Adding 2nd Exchange server for remote users current access too slow
Exchange Server 2010 will not interact with a RODC, but requires a writeable DC. I would start here: technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998636(v=exchg.141).aspx for planning and deployment documentation.

comment How to create new domain w/ Hyper-V 2012 hosting the DC server?
Yup, so long as the installation is only running Hyper-V, you are legally allowed to run two Virtual Machines of Windows Server without any additional licensing.

comment How to create new domain w/ Hyper-V 2012 hosting the DC server?
@Monofurioso For a small business customer, I question whether it is a good idea to use the free Hyper-V Server as that is a bit more difficult for them to deal with. You can always install Windows Server 2012, configure all the base infrastructure settings (computer name, IP address, etc.) and then uninstall the Server Graphical Shell if you want to minimize the attack surface. This will then allow you to locally manage the server using graphical tools such as Hyper-V Manager and even join the domain. As long as you only enable Hyper-V on the host, you still have the license to run 2 VMs.

comment Oversubscribing virtual servers
Joel, You should use Performance Monitor to capture statistics on utlization. Be sure to use the counters that start with "Hyper-V" so that you get accurate information. There are quite a few items that relate to logical processors, virtual processors (for a given VM even), dynamic memory, memory in general and so on.

comment Windows failover cluster - Delegate permissions to Domain user to move a group to another node
Are you using System Center 2012 Virtual Machine Manager? If so, you should be able to setup the Self Service Portal to enable this.

comment Is there a way with Hyper-V to use the wireless network on my server?
That sucks. I can't figure out why your wireless adapter isn't recognized by Hyper-V. Perhaps you can call Microsoft support??

Are you able to connect to a wireless network successfully?

comment Should we upgrade our Windows 2003 DCs?
The nice thing about domain controllers is that they replicate to each other. When you get the new hardware down the road, install the latest version of Windows Server on it, join the domain and make it a DC for your existing Domain. Transfer all the FSMO roles to the new DC(s) before retiring your old ones. Hence, no in-place upgrade required. The challenge will be if your DC also does a bunch of other things in which case you would need to migrate those services and applications as well.

comment Small Office server rack - power requirements
I would go with a 4-Plex rather than a 2 recepticle and bump to 30 amp. If you are like me, the power requirements will likely go up in the future and I like extra wingle room. Most rack mount power strips I've worked with are the regular 3 prong adapter so you should be fine.
