comment OpenLDAP directory structure for a distributed organization
I liked your answer however wish it was more detailed. Are you saying, I do OU's for users, applications and create groups for sales, marketing etc?

We are not running any directory service. What I need is the LDAP structure from a OU / Groups for the users in multiple locations across functions

Just create a new securitygroup with 5432 as inbound TCP connection and replace current security group on your RDS instance with the newly created one.

comment MySQL: Error establishing a database connection
Rather than figuring out how to restart mysql over cron, you should figure out why it is crashing in the first place which is a much more serious problem. What does the mysql logs say?

After you run configure, there will be a config.log created. Can you do cat config.log | grep pgsql and see if there are any errors?

comment How to create a new amazon ec2 instance with 30GB hard disk?
See here -- aws.amazon.com/ec2/instance-types I don't think any instance has 8GB storage. So you could be looking at this incorrectly. If you post the df -h from the OS, it will help.

what is the instance type? Did you create a separate EBS volume and attach it?

comment PCI scan failure for SSL Certificate with Wrong Hostname?
It it much easier for you to go and fix the certificate, perhaps buy a wildcard SSL so that you can use it on many of your servers with the same domain. It's not easy for SecuritMetrics to go and update their tests to make an exception. OTOH, I'd also advice to fix your domain and SSL certificate since it usually comes back and bites in other ways (email clients) and could be a PCIDSS violation in the strictest sense. Imagine your bank send you a certificate for another domain than the one you are on?

Yes if those 62 packages belong to a group, you can do yum remove >group>. What are these 62 packages?

Ouch :) It's not really that complex. It's ideal this is moved to a chat or even better the OP improves the question with ALL the details. Moderators, it's your call.
