comment False positive rate of CBL
I refreshed the CBL page to see if anything had been changed and "This detection was NOT because of spam." has been appended to the page in a big red font. I now feel like CBL maintainers are following me.

I assumed as much (re not being triggered spam) due to the fact that CBL is dedicated to malware and Spamhaus having other divisions for spam itself. Thanks!

comment mod_rewrite rule should be matching, but isn't
it should be matching the ([A-Za-z0-9]+) part before .asp but with my severe lack of knowledge, it may not be doing that - Edit, sorry, I misread the question, I've only modified this line by piecing together other rules and trying to learn from them

My mistake, that's still in from when I was trying to get it working, the error is still the same though, I'll edit that now

@Ramhound: Thank you very much, I'll be using all of this when I next speak with them.

comment Enabling Basic Authentication on Exchange 2010 SP1
Thanks a bunch, I'm going to mark this as correct since it has enough detail and the nature of my question (and the company we're dealing with) may take weeks to be resolved. I think the time we spoke to them before last, they mentioned that enabling a relay would be opening up our servers to anyone to send email through. I'm assuming with the possibility of white-lists, this makes their claim untrue, right?

comment Internal IP of amazon Load Balancer
This happened about half an hour ago. but after following your suggestion of netstat, I then tried browsing to the IP in lynx, sure enough it redirected me to my website. Now I just have to work out why the ELB was sending so much data all of a sudden. Thanks.

Yes, unfortunately no indication of what happened during the time it was connected, just that it was connected.

comment AMI with or without reboot on AWS EC2
Makes sense, I'm only asking because I had a bad experience once with an instance not rebooting after it was done, on top of this the AMI was also refusing to spawn instances.

Well I already know where the bottleneck is, does EC2/Cloudwatch have anything to spawn new instances when cpu load is high?

So would the best way of going about this (for a simple-ish setup) be to just spawn a few identical instances and pick one at random to process on?
